Finally, I decided to just talk to you as myself instead of like some strange narrator. So please excuse my breach of proper blog conduct!
The Jesus Follower
I am, first and foremost, a child of God. My relationship with Jesus defines me, and my hope is that when people see me, read my blog, or read my books, they see a glimpse of my Savior as well. I am far from perfect though, but a work in progress none-the-less.
Everyone has a dream of something they want to do that seems a little out-there. For some, it's to be an actor. For others, it's to sing on Broadway or at the Grand Ole Opry. Still others want to climb Mount Everest or go sky diving someday.
Me? I've always wanted to write a book.
Well, I did that, a few times over actually, but that birthed a new dream to actually publish them. And in June, 2011, I got thec all I'd been dreaming about... a contract offer for my first novel! Sandwich, with a Side of Romance was published September, 2012.
This past year, I decided to branch out and publish a few books on my own. The first book, A Side of Faith, released August, 2014. A Side of Hope and A Side of Love will release in 2015.
But I haven't left traditional publishing behind. My agent, Sarah Freese of Wordserve Literary, and I are busy working on a few other projects. So excited about where God is leading!
I'm married to my wonderful husband of fifteen years, Scott Phillips. We met in an Internet chatroom (when they were still cool) when I was 17, got married when I was 18, and had our first little girl when I was 19. Obviously I don't like putting things off very long!
I'm so very much in love with my husband, and I thank Jesus for him every day! Now, I'll be honest. Marriage definitely takes work, but it is worth every bit of effort! My husband is my biggest cheerleader (besides of course my mother) and actually isn't too shabby of an editor (i.e. He will actually tell me when my writing stinks! He puts it nicer than that though...)
I am the proud mother of 4 wonderful daughters, Karalynn, Lacy, Gabriella, and Annabelle. The privilege and task of being a mother is so much harder and more fulfilling than I ever imagined. I am truly blessed.
ALL of my girls are so very special and unique. I could go on and on about them all. However, my Annabelle was born with an extra special heart, and you read her story here.
A little piece of my heart also resides in heaven with my little Abigail, who went to be with Jesus February 2003. We lost her through a miscarriage, however she will always hold precious spot in our hearts, and we look forward to meeting her someday in Heaven!
A huge thank you for visiting my blog, which contains my thoughts on pursuing the dream of writing, on being a wife, mom and Christian woman in today's world. Please feel free to leave a comment or send me a private e-mail to discuss any the topics discussed on my blog.
Blessings to you!
