Whining....

It's a Whine and cheese kinda day. (although, more accurately it is a whine and oreo day...)

Bloody poop.
Leaky Gtubes.
Cranky Annabelle.
Sleepy Mommy.
Gagging Annabelle.
Loaded with too many oreos Mommy.
Gassy Annabelle.
Failed naps (on both parts.)
Cars that won't start.

Yes, I'm whining. I know, I know, I'm the eternal optimist. Or I really TRY to look on the good side of things, to be positive.

I've even had more that one person point to my "Clean Hands and Good Thoughts" sign to try and push me back to my normal self.

Annabelle: Almost all of her stools in the last 24 hours have been Hem-positive... meaning they have blood in them. Sometimes visible, sometimes not. Her belly feels soft, and the KUB (I think that is what it's called... xray of the digestive system... if I have the acronym wrong... I just don't really care today!) Anyway, the xray looked fine. They lessened the calories in her feeds, thinking that it's just too much for her right now. She is still gagging a LOT whenever we feed her though. She has her nissen... so she can't throw up, but the gagging is pain for her and painful for me to watch! And I get up multiple times at night to vent her Gtube (with no glasses on and half asleep... I've made a mess of one MANY times...)

She's also had a horrible time taking naps. She is just ultra restless and doesn't sleep more than 15 - 30 minutes. I can tell she is just exhausted. She gets melatonine at night though, so that has been helping her sleep better at night at least.

Her follow-up pacing study is tomorrow. The results will tell us for sure if we can go home. Not sure if home date is tomorrow afternoon or Saturday morning. Just depends on timing... and her lab results tomorrow!

Mommy: See above where I get up multiple times during the night to vent Gtube... also got up about 5 this morning to cranky Annabelle and couldn't get back to sleep. *yawn*

Made the mistake of buying oreos at Target yesterday (decided to try and buy a few things to eat instead of eating the stuff they have here and paying an arm and a leg for it...) Um, yes. Note to self: Krista should NOT NOT NOT be alone with a bag of oreos when she's feeling blah and tired. Half of the bag is already gone. Maybe more... I have it up high so I just reach in and grab without seeing the damages. Yes... it was that kind of day!

Tried to take a nap today: FAIL.

Scott stayed home today to clean the house back up for our hopeful return soon (he had to work last night and tonight anyway....) When he left for work tonight, our car wouldn't start. Just GREAT. Probably the battery, but still... irritating! PLEASE pray that it works by tomorrow... as I do NOT want to bring her back home in the van... the front air blower doesn't work... so it gets HOT (the back where she is works... so really this would be Scott suffering...) and the lovely ceiling is falling in (it's old... we're cheap... what can I say?) and yeah... I'd much rather bring her home in our car!

I could probably think of other things to complain about... but I think we've ALL had enough whine for today! Don't know about you... but I'm feeling a bit tipsy (proverbially speaking only, I promise! I'm not a drinker!)

So as to not end on an alcoholic or sour note:  we DID wean Annabelle's oxygen down a bit today!! It's down to 125ccs... and she's satting pretty good so we hope to get it down further during the night.

I say we... but I mean the nurses. I hope to be SLEEPING.

*yawn*

Have I ever mentioned how much I would love to throw her monitor out the window??? Oh, wait... that's more whining. I'll stop now!! Promise!

Here is to a better day tomorrow! And to SLEEP!

:-)

Vent away, girl. You are definitely entitled. We are all praying and wishing we could come do a stupid silly dance to make you smile. Well, maybe not everyone, but I think it would be a hoot! (((hugs)))

Krista, so sorry. Wish we all could do more than just offer our shoulders for you to cry one, know you're still in prayer.

Hi Krista,
Could you go home for a while? Shut the door, put on some soothing music...whatever. Remember I told you once I was a neonatal nurse.

I could see these poor mothers become more and more exhausted. I would recommend they go home. It was beyond hard, but it was like they needed someone to give them permission..tell them it was ok...because exhaustion does not benefit anyone!

I am praying you find comfort and trust in the nurses today and go home and rest up.

Your baby will be coming home once again...and you need to be ready!!

Sending a host of heavenly angles to help you drift off to sleep...where ever you are!

Praying without ceasing!
