Surgery results

Some good news (kinda ) and some pretty not great news.

Good news is that Annabelle came through surgery and is doing fine. The leaky valve looks much better and they did some other something that I don't completely understand yet.

However, they couldn't do her Glenn, the reason they did the surgery in the first place. The pressures ended up being too high in her lungs and she didn't tolerate it. Which means, we have to go through this again in a few months (instead of a few years...). The hope is that she'll tolerate it better in a few months, but the surgeon has no idea why it didn't work this time.

He also mentioned that if the repair they DID do doesn't fix her leaky valve, it is a good indication that she's not tolerating a single ventrical repair that they are trying to do. And since there are only 2 ways to fix the condition she has, that would leave us with one, which is a heart transplant.

I'm still processing, to be honest. I still have a ton of questions and am quite confused. Our hope and prayer, at the moment, is that her leaky valve is FIXED and that she recovers well from this fix. And that we can get her to come home before they have to try her Glenn again.

Your prayers today as we try to grasp all this and gain a little more understanding as to what to expect in the coming days, weeks and months are greatly appreciated. We're just a wee bit overwhelmed at the moment.

Krista, my dear friend, I'm hard-pressed to type a message because I have tears in my eyes. I ache for you as you deal with the disappointment, the questions, and the knowledge that you beloved daughter will have to go through surgery again much sooner than expected.

I am, however, relieved to hear that Annabelle is out of surgery and recovering from the ordeal.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers and on my heart in a big way in the days ahead.

(((Hugs)))

Krista, I don't know what to say. I just...don't...

But God does. He knows what you need right now, and I'm praying He covers you with His love.

Krista,

My heart aches for you, Annabelle and your whole family. I know this is not what you hoped for. I know that you are questioning and wondering why? Please know that you are covered in prayer and loved by many. I don't know what to say other than to encourage you that God, our heavenly Father, loves Annabelle even more than you and Scott and HE is holding her in HIS hands.

You are in our hearts and prayers, Krista. I'm so glad Annabelle made it through the surgery safely.

I'm praying that you will know God's peace and presence as you navigate the next few days and find out everything you can about the surgery and the prognosis.

Oh Krista! I'm so sorry the results weren't what we were praying for. But I'm so thankful she came through okay. I'm praying that the valve heals wonderfully so that you can bring her home and love on her until the next surgery.

Wish I was there to (((HUG))) you!
Love and prayers, my friend.

Hi Krista -

Praise God she came through the surgery well. One thing I found in my dealings with doctors: they always give you the worst case scenario. They have to because of lawsuits.

I'm going to be praying and believing that leaky valve is fixed. Nothing is impossible or too hard for God.

Blessings,
Susan

Thank you, everyone, for your thoughts and prayers. We really appreciate them. I got a few more answers tonight, and I'm feeling a little better. Still trying to just process this newest curve ball, but having faith that God knew even this and has a plan. We're resting in that tonight.

Will post more tomorrow or Sunday about how she's doing and what our next steps will HOPEFULLY be (we all know that our planned next steps sometimes get diverted though!)

Checking in late, Krista, but Annabelle and your family are always in my prayers. Funny how things work. I hadn't read your blog but I awoke in the middle of the night and started thinking of Annabelle so I offered up some prayers until I fell back asleep. Hope they helped her through the night.

Love you, love you, love you, dear sister. Love your angel-baby. May God's hand restore and fix and heal, so that even the doctors are amazed at Annabelle' progress, and send her home! This is my prayer.
